When buying direct is the right choice

Honesty first: often you do not need a concierge. If the piece is in stock at a boutique you can walk into, the price is transparent, and you can inspect it yourself, buy it direct. Nothing a concierge adds would justify a step in between. A concierge earns its place only when direct is hard, slow, risky or simply out of reach.

When a concierge earns its place

The case for a concierge is specific, not general. It is the right choice when one or more of these is true:

• The piece is not where you are. The right watch, stone or car sits in Switzerland, and you are not — and cannot easily travel to inspect it.
• You want to see it before deciding. A live private viewing lets you examine the piece in detail, in real time, without a flight.
• Trust has to be built at a distance. Independent verification, documented provenance and a written contract matter more than a quick purchase — see buying remotely, safely.
• The piece is off-market. It is not listed anywhere; reaching it needs discreet access and introductions.
• The transaction has to hold up afterwards. A bank-ready dossier, insured custody, clean cross-border documentation — the parts that matter long after the piece arrives.

What a concierge does that you can't easily do yourself

The value is not access to a shop — it is the procedure around the piece. A concierge arranges the live viewing, commissions independent verification from a specialist with no stake in the sale, traces and documents provenance, prepares the contract, coordinates protected settlement and insured delivery or Swiss custody, and assembles the documentation a bank will ask for. Each of these is possible to do alone. Doing all of them, at a distance, across a language and a legal system that are not your own, is where a concierge saves you the risk, not just the time.

How the concierge is paid — and why it is aligned with you

This is the question that decides trust. Maison Jade Club is paid by the client, not by sellers. It takes no undisclosed commission; where a seller offers one, it is credited back to the client in full. That single rule removes the usual conflict — a concierge paid by sellers is incentivised to sell you what pays it most, not what is right for you. Paid by the client, the incentive is only to find the right piece and protect the purchase. For a boutique purchase you pay the boutique directly; Maison Jade Club never holds client funds.

When not to use a concierge

If the piece is in front of you, the price is fair, and you can verify and carry it yourself — buy it direct and keep it simple. A concierge is not a status accessory; it is a way to reach and safely acquire a piece you otherwise couldn't. If none of the conditions above apply to your purchase, the honest answer is that you do not need one.
