Can you see a piece live over video before buying?

Yes. This is the whole point. Most cross-border acquisition asks you to decide from photographs, a listing or someone's word. The live private viewing removes that leap of faith: the piece is shown to you over a private live video call, in real time, and only then do you decide.

It is not a recorded clip and not a catalogue. A specialist stands with the piece, moves it, answers your questions on the spot, and shows you exactly what you ask to see. You are present, from wherever you are.

What a live private viewing covers

The viewing is arranged around a specific piece, in the detail that matters for that category:

• A watch — dial, movement, engravings, hallmarks and the full set of papers, shown in macro detail.
• Jewellery — the stone under light, the setting, the certificate and the maker's marks.
• A collector car — the body, the numbers, the underside and the start-up, walked through by a specialist.
• Physical gold — the bars, the refiner's stamp and the serial numbers, matched to the inventory.

How a viewing works, step by step

• You request a piece. A specific watch, a stone, a car — or a brief of what you are looking for.
• A time is set around you. The viewing is arranged for your time zone; there is no need to travel or to be in Switzerland.
• The piece is shown, live. Filmed with professional equipment, from a Swiss boutique, a dealership or a private source. You direct the attention — closer, the clasp, the movement, again.

Why seeing it live changes the decision

A photograph is chosen for you. A live viewing is not. You see the piece as it is, ask the awkward question in the moment, and watch the answer happen on screen. For an object worth six or seven figures, that difference is the difference between trusting a listing and trusting your own eyes.

What follows, if you decide

The viewing is the first step, not the last. If you decide to proceed, an independent specialist verifies the piece, its provenance is documented, and a written contract is prepared.
