Is it safe to buy an expensive piece from another country?

It can be — and often it is the only way to reach the right piece, which rarely sits in your own city. What makes a remote purchase unsafe is not the distance. It is deciding, paying and shipping without a procedure that protects each step.

The fear is reasonable: you cannot hold the piece, you are wiring a large sum across borders, and you are trusting people you have not met. Each of those worries has a specific answer. Put together, they turn a leap of faith into a documented transaction.

The chain that removes the risk

Who holds the money

Not Maison Jade Club — this is the point most worth understanding. For a boutique purchase, you pay the boutique directly. For an off-market piece, the funds sit in the client account of a Swiss law firm and are released only against delivery. Maison Jade Club never takes custody of client funds and takes no undisclosed commission; any commission a seller offers is credited back to the client in full. What you never have to do

You never have to fly to Switzerland to inspect a piece before deciding. You never have to wire a large sum to a private seller's personal account on trust.
